This spring and summer in Convent Glen North (in Orleans), check out the weekly drop-in family bike event dubbed Pedal and Play. Modelled off the idea of a bike bus to school, this event instead mimics a city bus to move families through the community on wheels. Each week, you’re invited to get on your bike, meet your neighbours, and have fun!
Our bike bus family is growing. Less than two weeks after our great conversation with Coach Sam Balto, we welcome a new member.
On March 11, Bike Ottawa hosted Coach Sam Balto of Bike Bus World and our own Cassie Smith of the Devonshire Bike Bus for an online session.
It has been a tough week, with the news that the Ford government looking to abolish bike lanes in places where they are most needed. And we are on track for one of the hottest years on record, while being far behind on meeting climate goals.
