As usual, the week after the clocks fall back, we’ll be partnering with Safer Roads Ottawa to encourage cyclists to light themselves up while biking outside the diminishing daylight hours. The Highway Traffic Act requires that all cyclists have a working front light and rear reflector.
What: Awareness campaign and FREE bike lights for those poorly equipped
When: Weather permitting Tuesday, November 7th, 3:30pm to 5:30pm Rain date: November 9th
Where: West side of the Canal at the Corkstown Bridge
In case of poor weather, please stay tuned to Bike Ottawa’s Twitter and Facebook pages for updates on whether we move the event to the rain date noted above.
If you don’t catch us, remember that you can get a set of bike lights for around $10. Check out the safety video we co-produced with Safer Roads Ottawa for a reminder of the importance of lighting your bike as the days get shorter.
