Bike Ottawa is a non profit, 100% volunteer run, staff less, membership based organisation, founded in May 1984 (under the name Citizens for Safe Cycling). We incorporated a few years later. We choose our board members at the Annual Meeting, usually held in autumn.
How to reach us?
In a sign of the times, we have recently discontinued our phone service, since email and social media is now the best way to reach us. Sorry for any incovenience, but this will also help us to stretch your membership fees even further.
We have a mailbox at the Post Office on Sparks and Elgin for your cheques and other documentation. It is emptied every fortnight or so. We still go by our original official name of "Citizens for Safe Cycling" for any cheques and contracts.

Twitter: @BikeOttawa If you tweet about cycling issues in Ottawa, use #ottbike. You can follow our social events usually on #ottbike too.
We are often approached by the media as the spokespersons for cycling. We are happy to talk to you, but remember that we do have day jobs and can't always call you back right away. We do not comment on collisions involving cyclists other than general comments about safety, simply because we were likely (hopefully) not there when it happened.
We have thousands of cycling related images, not only from Ottawa, but also from several other cities in and outside Canada. We are happy to share them with you, provided you mention the source: "Bike Ottawa". Images from our web site can be freely downloaded, provided you mention the source (if no source is mentioned, use "Bike Ottawa"). Links to our main page www.bikeottawa.ca are also appreciated.
