Bike Ottawa sent a few weeks ago a questionnaire to candidates to learn about their stance regarding biking in the city, and how they plan to tackle this issue if they get elected. Nine questions where sent, covering policy, infrastructure and equity.
We’d like to thank all the candidates that took the time to answer our questionnaire and gave thoughtful answers. Unfortunately they only account for a third of the candidates, and seven wards didn’t get a single answer. If you live in West Barrhaven, West Carleton, College, Orléans-South Navan, Osgoode, Rideau-Jock or Riverside-South-Findlay Creek, reach out to your candidates and let them know safe and convenient cycling is an issue you care about! We did reach out to all candidates, except those whose contact information wasn’t available on the City’s website when we sent out the questionnaire, and we’ll happily add any answers that’ll come after this post is published.
But enough talking, here are the unedited answers, sorted by wards. We hope this will help you make an informed choice come election day.
