Winter is approaching, but many of those who bike in Ottawa won’t be put off by the snow: in recent years we’ve seen an expanding network of winter-maintained cycling routes in our city and growing popularity of riding bikes straight through the winter.

Be safe, be seen: Check out our “Lights on Bikes” safety video
On November 8th, we teamed up with Safer Roads Ottawa to hand out approximately 650 pairs of lights to cyclists who weren’t equipped for biking in the dark after the clocks turned back.
It’s getting darker out there: Lights on Bikes is back
Just after the clocks turn back, we’ll be partnering with Safer Roads Ottawa again this year to raise awareness and encourage cyclists to light themselves up while cycling in the early evening and at night.

What a fantastic turnout at our 2016 AGM! Not only did we have the largest ever number of members and guests in attendance (nearly 150), but we also had more members of city council join us than ever before, along with Mayor Jim Watson.
