Do you want to make cycling in Ottawa safer, accepted and a voice that is heard? Do you think the city should speed up the construction of bike infrastructure? Then roll up your sleeves.
Join our Events Committee
We can always use extra hands when we organize our signature events, and to help us represent Bike Ottawa at other community events throughout the year. Further, we welcome initiatives to organize new events, such as fun rides or community rides that explore bike-able routes in different neighbourhoods of our City. Our Events Committee is the door to helping out with and boosting our presence at events throughout Ottawa.
Join our Advocacy Working Group (AWG)
Advocacy is at the core of our work to improve cycling in Ottawa. Our Advocacy Working Group (AWG) is a group of volunteers who directly support our efforts to monitor and provide feedback on infrastructure projects across the city: this includes not only designated cycling projects, but other projects that will have implications for cyclists as well. We follow and provide feedback on projects from the design phase through to post-build review. The more volunteers we have from across the city to moniotor projects in areas where they ride, the better we can cover the huge amount of work that is taking place and help to ensure positive results for those who bike. Each month, our AWG meets to review projects and discuss priorities for creating safer cycling routes in Ottawa. Interested in supporting our advocacy efforts?

Help Produce our Annual Report on Bicycling in Ottawa
Since 2011, our volunteers have been producing this Annual Report that reviews data trends, highlights recent infrastructure, tells stories, and makes recommendations about riding bikes in Ottawa. If you're interested in shaping the content of the next report, researching and writing content, copyediting, and/or design, we'd love to have you involved in preparing our next edition.
Get the word out
Tell your friends, family, colleagues about Bike Ottawa and the work we do: invite them to become members. Speak out for cycling at public meetings.
Write a letter to your City Councillor
The best way to get your city councillor to vote for cycling is to let them know these issues are important to you, and give them clear reasons why. We can alert you when letters are needed.
Report cycling problems
Report small problems before they become bigger problems. Report that dangerous pothole, crack, and broken glass. Call parking control to report that person parked in the bike lane. Report the bus driver who cut you off. 311 is your friend.
